Does being a hero mean going it alone?

Check out the story about Jason and his band of Argonauts. Why should we believe that Jason is a hero, given all of the support he received along the way? Shouldn't a hero be able to fulfill his quest all on his own? For contrast, read about Hercules (a.k.a. Heracles and Herakles).

Being a hero does not mean doing everything alone. All of the people that helped Jason, on his journey, where all heroes. You are consider more of a hero if you do it on your own. Everyone needs a little help in life.

I think that being a hero does not involve how much help you get, but rather whether you are willing to put others before yourself. Also I believe that if you are brave and selfless enough to take on a quest at your own risk, you are a hero. Even Hercules had a little help with some of his labors.
