We often think about Thanksgiving as a time to gorge ourselves on vast quantities of scrumptious food, stare at hours of football, and travel too many hours on highways that are way too crowded. It can also be a great time to take stock of a year gone by. Since last Thanksgiving my wife and I have welcomed a wonderful, charming, healthy daughter into our family, and that is the thing for which I am most thankful. I am learning to be more conscientious, more thoughtful, and more giving because now there is a person who depends in part on me for her survival in this cold world.
What has happened since last Thanksgiving that you are most thankful for?

My grandfather has had many successful surgeries after a stroke and we thought that he may have died, but he didnt.

My Aunt Susie, Uncle John, and cousins John, Kelly,Kathleen, Patrick, and Allison, moved to Burbank,California. They tooktheir dog Marli. I am very thankful that they are moving back to New Jersey this year!!!!

I’m thankful that I have had the chance to spend more time with my dad. I have had this chance because he now only works about 3 days a week at his new job and my mom works about 5 days a week at her new job. During this time with my dad we have had fun and learned more about each other.

The thing I am most thankful for is my new (fat) gray cat. She follows me around, keeps me warm (my keyboard too)and tries to eat every thing in sight.
The things I am thankful for are very private and personal. I am not going to go into great details, but I am thankful for everything that has changed in my life (for the better). My life was hard and now it seems as if I can finally just relax and actually have friends and a good relationship with my family. For all of this I am truely thankful for. And now all I need to do is make sure all my friends and family member feel the same.

I am most thankful that everyone is well in my family. I am also thankful that I have a great family and friends who care about me very much. I also have a great dog who cuddles with me in bed and does not bite. He loves to be petted and is very fun to be around. Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays because everybody in the United States can celebrate it. I am thankful to live in a free country.

Since last Thanksgiving, I am grateful for the experiences I got when I traveled to Ireland for the third time with my family. It was incredibly beautiful! On my mom's side of the family, my grandma was born and lived for a time in Ireland, so we were able to take her back to where she grew up twice. We have lots of cousins there, and they always welcome us back year after year. I believe that I am very fortunate to have been able to experience a different culture. Not only were the people great, but the landscape and food were amazing too. We went to towns as small as a village that has 17 houses, to great big cities like the capital, Dublin. We saw a church in the tiny village that could hold only two people, and toured around a few castles that were humongous! I am very lucky to have had this opportunity.
I am most thankful for since last Thanksgiving is how my sisters and I have gotten closer and talk to each other more and dont fite as much. Last year we dident talk much and when we did we were fiteing and this year we did a lot of fun things so I am thankful for that.-Bella period 5
The thing I am probally most thankful for since last thanksgiving, is my house. Last year thanksgiving, we were living in a small rental house. Finally at christmas we got to move into to my current house that we got fixed. It was a pretty hard situation to live in moving from two houses over one year, but I am happy and thankful to be in my house now to enjoy thanksgiving.

I am thankful that my grandma was successful with over coming her breast cancer. She found out that she had it in August and she got treated in October. She still has more treatment but so far she is doing really well. She came to our house for thanksgiving and feels good. I hope that in the future I will be spending more thanksgiving and other holiday meals with her.

I am most thankful for an expirience I will never forget.I went to northern Quebec in a small town called Tadussac.I went on a whale watching trip and saw four blue whales,two humpbacks and loads of baluga, minke, and fin.Seing a blue or humpback whale is a very rare expirience for anyone and I know I am one of few people to see one.I had a great time and learned a lot.

I am thankful about my grandma's disease not getting too severe. If it had gotten a lot worse she would be forgetting many things. My only grandma is now suffering through Alzheimers disease so she can't remember everything that has happened for a while. She now depends on my family coming down to New York often.

I am thankful that my sister ginger who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last summer has finally been able to control herself with her eating. Before she was diagnosed she had a pretty bad sweet tooth but now she has managed to eat healthy foods that will not drive her bloodsugar crazy.

After reading the comments again, I kinda relized i left a pretty dumb comment. I mean a house is good to be grateful for, but I forgot to mention my family. Even though it seems we don't get along well, we do and I really think I should be more grateful. Looking at the poverty around the world, it is amazing what I have. I'm thankful that my cousin Brian is home from Iraq and his leg is heeling from getting shot. Those are more important than material things to me.

I am mostly thankful for being able to travel as much as i do now. i go to florida, vermont, north carolina etc. This provides many great learning opprotunities for me about our history and such. Some people i know have never even gone out of state.

I am thankful for my awesome chocolate lab, for the food I devoured on Thanksgiving, and for my family who provide lots of fun in my life.
I am thankful for having the rest of my family with me. In June my grandmother died from kidney failier, and she was 77 years old. I wish she could have been here for thanksgiving, christmas and new years day. I am thankful for haveng all of my pets including my two cats and three parakeets. I am thanful for my belongings, they were all at risk of being ruined because of the flood that happend two years ago. The water wiped out most of the road into hartwick and was about 2 1/2 feet deep. the flood water carved out a ditch that was taller than my father who is six foot three. The thing that caused the flood was several days in a row of just rain. to everyone reading this i wish you a happy thanksgiving and no sicknesses. Jolie Gagnon period:5

Since last Thanksgiving, I have not seen many members of my family other than those three that I live with, once in March, and on July fourth. I am thankful though, that I was able to see and meet at least a few. Also, we recently saw our cousins and I have a new baby cousin! We celebrated his first birthday, and I am thankful that I was able to meet him and that he is in good health.
