Yesterday, Dallas Braden threw a perfect game for the Oakland A's. In the photo above, Dallas and his catcher jump for joy as the final out is made. What is a perfect game? How many have been thrown in the history of Major League Baseball? How was it especially signifcant to Dallas that players wore pink necklaces to raise awareness of the fight against cancer for Mother's Day?

A perfect game in Baseball is when the pitcher does not let any player get to first base. There have been about 18 or 19 in the mlb. Also it was significant for the players to wear pink because it was mothers day and they were helping the fight against breast cancer or at least thats what it said on ask.com

A perfect game is when the other team has no hits no walks and no runs. Also if your on the team who has thrown the perfect game the score board should say thank you have at least on run more than one hit and no errors. There have only been 17 total perfect games thrown in history. The reason why it was because his mother died of cancer when he was young and his grandma raised him as a kid.
P.S. it was also because his mother died of cancer when he was young and so did his grandmother.

I think it was significant to wear the pink necklaces for mother’s day because there are moms out there fighting cancer and I think that that was to support the moms with cancer or the moms who have seen someone they love go through it

There has only been 19 pitchers to pitch a perfect game in MLB history. A perfect game is when the opposing team has no hits or walks and your team has no errors.
The pitchers who threw perfect a perfect game consisted of
Dallas Braden
Mark Buehrle
David Cone
David Wells
Kenny Rogers
Mike Witt
Len Barker
Catfish Hunter
Don Larsen
Charlie Robertson
Addie Joss
Cy Young
Randy Johnson
Dennis Martinez
Tom Browning
Sandy Koufax
Jim Bunning
Monte Ward
Lee Richmond
Alot of these names are famous and others are not. Even the greatest pitchers have not thrown a perfect game. It is not very common. They wore pink necklaces because Dallas' mother died of cancer when he was young child. It was a great coincidence that it was mothers day and when they were all wearing pink necklaces in honor of his mother he threw a perfect game. What makes this extract important is that this game will be shown again through out history, and so will the support for the fight against breast cancer (which makes me glad as my grandmother died of it)

The perfict game is when the mets win!!!!! 16 to 0 and that without dought is the pirfict game.
A perfect game is when a pitcher throws a game without a single batter getting on base, and there have only been 18 in MLB history. It was important to wear pink necklaces for mothers day, because it is a symbol of awareness for cancer. The more aware people are about different types of cancer, the easier it will be to find treatments, or even a cure.

In baseball a perfict game is one of the rarest things you can do. omly 17 pichers in baseball have piched a perfect game. There has only been about 17 or 18 perfect games thrown in the MLB is history. A perfect game in Major League Baseball or any baseball or softball league are incredible and a life accomplishment. A perfect game is when a team and pitcher make 27 out without anyone getting a hit or error. There are 19 perfect games in Major League History of course the 19th being Dallas. I think it is cool that so far there have been two in a row last year Mark Buehrle pitched one. I got these answers from watching hours of sports of televison because as you know i'm a sport fanatic. The third question I had to do a little searching for. The reason players wearing pink on sunday was signifacant to Dallas was because Dallas's mom died or cancer and he said he pitched it for her. I found this answer on askville.com a interesting fact is that Gape Kapler batted in the 9th inning of both Bueruele and Braden's perfect game. In Mark's perfect game he was the guy who was robbed by a great play by Dewayne Wise I also know this because i am a sport fanatic.

A perfect game is when a pitcher or group of pitchers play a game in which no player can make it to a base during the nine innings that a baseball game is played. This means that hits, walks, and hit basemen can not be allowed. There have been 19 pefect games in history, but only 17 after 1900s. Every single perfect game recorded has been thrown by a single pitcher. It was especially significant to Dallas that players wore pink necklaces to raise awareness of the fight against cancer for Mother's Day because his mother died of cancer when he was young, and he wanted to stress the importance of cancer awareness. I used and to help me research the answers to these questions.

As defined by the regulators of

, a perfect game is when a pitcher(s) keeps the batters of the opposite team from reaching any base throughout the progression of the game. Apparently, as I also read from the website recorded above, one game coincides of "at least nine innings". According to the same website, only 19 pitchers in Major League Baseball have thrown perfect games.
I read on the very same website that it was especially significant to Dallas that players wore pink necklaces to raise awareness of the fight against cancer for their Mother's Day game because, as a teenager, he lost his mother to cancer. Generally, the pink necklace/signs represent breast cancer which a generous quantity of women can develop, which leads my mind to suggest that his mother had breast cancer. The game day just so happened to be Mother's Day, and wearing the necklaces/signs seems in a way to hail those who have cancer, especially Mothers; whether it be that they have breast cancer or some other type of cancer.

The players wore pink necklaces to raise the awareness about cancer. Dallas Braden's Mom and Grandmother both died of cancer. I think he must have felt good that the other players on his team cared about the fight for cancer.

A perfect game in baseball means when you have the same pitcher of one team the whole game. A perfect game must be the hardest thing to do because of how many good batters your up aganist. It would take a lot of effort and luck to be able to have no hit walks or balls. I sure that the people wore pink nevklaves to raise awareness of cancer in that world. Im very sure of this is because in a commercal on TV they said a lot about cancer and how there trying to find a cure for it and it good to show it on a game thousands of people will watch.
A perfect game is where there are no hits, walks, or errors also they are very uncommon because of the rare amount of pitchers that have experienced one. I dont play baseball but from my research 18 pitchers have experienced just that. It was significant because it showed that they really beleived or went for the cause of fighting against breast cancer, not just a quick contract that the team signed in my opinion.

A perfect game is when the pitcher does not allow anyone on the opposing team to get a hit and the pitcher does not walk any batter. There has been 19 perfect games in the history of the MLB. I learned this from ESPN because I watched the game and after it talked about the perfect games and how many there has been. It is signifcant because breast cancer is a rising cause of death in the USA and his mother died of breast cancer when he was a teenager.

The definition of a perfect game in baseball is a game when the opposing team never gets on base. In history there have only been 19 perfect games. It is significant to Dallas Braden that the day of his perfect game, Mother's Day, players wore pink necklaces to join in the fight against cancer because his mother died of cancer when he was very young. His grandmother who had raised him most of his life after his mother died was at the game to see Dallas pitch a perfect game wearing a pink necklace in the fight against cancer.

First off, I think it would be so amazing to picth a perfect game! A perfect is where no one gets on base, no walks and no hits! (I knew that... I did not have to look it up) 19 perfect games have been pitched. (http://mlb.fanhouse.com/2010/05/09/list-of-perfect-games-in-mlb-history/) The reason why almost ALL the players wore pink was to raise breast cancer awareness. Perfect games aren't really possible,if you think about it. If games were perfect, there would be no reason to watch them because there would be no loser and no winner. The pink necklesses were to show there support and awareness towards breast cancer. They probably donated alot of money to the program and wanted to show they did to gain publicity.

A perfect game is defined by Major League Baseball as a game in which a pitcher (or combination of pitchers) pitches a victory that lasts a minimum of nine innings and in which no opposing player reaches base.[2] Thus, the pitcher (or pitchers) cannot allow any hits, walks, hit batsmen, or any opposing player to reach base safely for any other reason—in short, "27 up, 27 down". The feat has been achieved only 19 times in the history of major league baseball—17 times since the modern era began in 1900.
