Martin Luther King Jr. is important because he said that every one is the same no matter what the skin color is. After he said that the African American could do what we can do. The African American’s get to play baseball and do what they could not do before. And to this day still they can do what they want.

Martin Luther King Jr. is important because he wanted to end segregation and to merge the Whites and the African Americans. Back in the 1950's the teams were just White or just African American. There were seperate places for Whites and African Americans. Today, all places have Whites and African Americans together. The third picture shows this. The teams now have all nationalities. It shows that it doesn't matter what nationality you are, we all should have the same rights.

Martin helped blacks get free. Befor they were not aloud in puplic places and and to do the same things that whites did. Now blacks have the same right as whites. They can do the same things and go to the same places.Duncan Clark p7

Martin Luther King jr's work is very important because it changed america. Before his famous "I Had A Dream" speech white people thought they had more power over the Africa American people because they were from a different race. but his speech chaged the way people thought aboput it so that gave the African American people the same oppertunities as the whiter people have.
Martin Luther King is probably the most famous person associated with the civil rights movement. King was active from the start of the Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 to 1956 until his murder in April 1968. To many, Martin Luther King epitomised what the civil rights campaign was all about and he brought massive international cover to the movement.

Martin Luther King Jrs. work was important for many people, including baseball players. In 1950 baseball was segregated. The African American and Cuban players played in the Negro league. Teams in this league included the Indian Head Rockets. This team, from Florida, traveled to Saskatchewan Canada to play. They were a great team, but couldn't compete in Major League Basesball. The 1950 Yankees were also a great team. They won the World Series. Many would say that made them the best team in the world that year- but others would say it wasn't true as they didn't compete against any teams in the Negro League, like the Indian Head Rockets. Because of Martin Luther King, Jr., baseball is now integrated. People of all races, colors and nationalities can play in Major League baseball- -- if they are good enough to do so. The 2011 All Star game ballot is where the best players can be voted upon. The picture for the ballot shows the progress that has been made since the 1950s and due to MLK. It shows white, African American and hispanic players. Major League Baseball was just beginning to change in the 1905s (the Yankees had signed an African American Elston Howard to play on it's minor league team in 1950). Jackie Robinson started playing in this league in 1947. Today with the help of MLK the Major league baseball association has players of all colors and from many other countries playing ball.

The importance of Martin Luther King Jr.s work is that he helped intergration. In the pictures there is an all white team and a all black team. And now with the hele of Martin Luther King Jr., today teams are both black and white.
Martin Luther King JR let people know that all people are created equal. After hid speech "I had a dream" people began to relize that all people are the same. This changed history forever. Without him, people would probably be judjed by their skin color.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a prominent leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement.
In the 1950's the blacks and the whites were seperated. They couldn't go to the same school, couldn't use the same water fountain, and many other things(usually the things for whites were better than the things for blacks). That is why each person in one team in the 1950's has the same color skin and the other team has a different skin color. Martin Luther King, Jr. worked to end racial segregation. His work created opportunities for blacks to have the same rights as whites and to be able to use the same things as the whites. Later his work helped to end racial segregation. That is why in the 2011 National League All-Star Ballot there are both whites and blacks, because Martin Luther King, Jr. created the opportunity to end racial segregation.

Martin Luther King Jr. has made an impact by getting people to relize that everyone is equal. The 3 pictures show that over time African Americans have been accepted more. On the baseball team photos it shows that we had started to bring many different people into our lives.

Martin Luther King Jr. "Fought" for the freedome of blacks. His work was very important because he created a combined world where everything and everyone is equal. Thisgoes along with the photos because one team is all blacks and the other teams are just white. They were that way because whites didnt care for the blacks. It was that way for a while until Martin Luther KIng Jr. stepped in and changed American history.

Martin Luther King Jr.'s work is important because it opened up alot of oppertunities to the African American community to sports such as Major Leage Baseball and other things African Americans could never do before.

Martin Luther king jr. Created opportunities because he gave his speech called "I had a dream." he talked about how Aberham Lincoln Said how Each man has equal rights. Opportunities has to do with the 3 pictures because they are all in black and white but one team has all African American players. The next picture has all whit people and the next picture has both how a team should be. The pictures represent an opportunity to work as 1 each individual unit or to work all together. That's what the pictures mean by having opportunities

Martin luther king jr had a dream. His dream was to have all people live together in harmony no matter what a persons color was.He wanted his belief to change the view of people to accept everyone equally. Eventually his dream did change peoples view and black people were accepted into society. This gave them opportunities to travel places they had never been to.Also they could join sports teams and be accepted.Because of King ,Satchel Paige was the one of the first negro players ever. Martin was a very important figure in history.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a very important person in history. He helped end the seperation of people because of the color of their skin and made the "i have a dream"speech. That speech made many other people beleive that it was wrong to seperate people based on things that aren't important. African Americans were not allowed to play on profesional sports teams before then. They either had their own teams or didn't play at all. That is why the pictures have baseball teams from different years since then then
Martin Luther King Jr. was a very important man. He fought for freedom and rights for African Americans. If he had not fought for what he believed in our country would be pretty dull. There would be many rules on where to go and what to do and who you can be friends with. He quoted the constitution and Abraham Lincoln by stating that all men are created equal his speech also helped even after he was assassinated with the women's rights. He fought for what he believed in and he made a difference!
I think that Martin Luther King Jr. made it possible for African American's and Whites to play on the same team. Before baseball had all White teams, Negro teams, and very little mixed teams. Because of Martin Luther King Jr. many opportunities have opened up for Negros.

Martin Luther King Jr. Is very important. His main statement was that everybody should be created equally. African Americans and whites. African Americans should get the same rights that the whites did. That was his belief. If he hadn't come into our history, It would be all whites on the baseball teams... Everybody should be created equally.
Mya Stearns p.7
Martin Luthor King Jr. made it so that all men were treated equal. As shown in the pictures shown below in the page before, many who would be shunned are now able to do the same as everyone else.

Martin Luther King Jr was important in our history because he ended most of racism. When he did that minorities were then allowed to play on some baseball teams. For example Jackie Robinson was the first African American baseball player. As the years progressed more African Americans were allowed to playy the sport of baseball.
Joshua Briggs Period 8 1/12/12
"I have a dream...." The importance of Martin Luther King Jr. was that he stood up for his family and other black people. Before, white and black people were separated and the white people had more rights than the black people. Then, Martin Luther King Jr. stood up and gave a speech starting with "I have a dream.."
Martin Luther King Jr. was a very important figure in our society he got us all the past the feeling that dark skinned people weren't the same as whites they had feelings too. he put up all these for he to was black, he didn't like having to ride in the back of the bus or drinking from a different water foutain, so he acted with that the blacks boycotted the bus services they did all the things to help our world. if it wasn't for Martin Luther King Jr. our whole world would be different, if you look at the pictures you will notice the different races on a team. that wasn't aloud 50 years ago but thank to Martin Luther king Jr. it is now.
