Predictable?

Last week, The Washington Huskies beat Idaho to end a losing streak that extended back into last season. This week the Huskies knocked off the perennial power USC Trojans. The Huskies were unranked and 1-1. The Trojans were 2-0 and coming off of a huge win over the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus. USC has better recruits every year and a very successful program. Why was this result somewhat predictable?

It's Fleet again. YAAAY! On the USC game, USC's problem was that their starting quarterback who led them to a game winning drive at the end of the Ohio State game was out because of injury. When I first saw that on ESPN, I said to myself, "who cares, they'll still kill them." Now I didn't see the whole game, but to me it seemed like Aaron Corp just could not get the offense going. Plus, the win was also predictable because EVERY YEAR, USC loses to one unranked Pac-10 team and Washington had just ended their losing streak, so it kind of made sense for them not to start another losing streak.

hey mr abts

I think that usc always has a good team but always gets beats by less then medicore teams. they always get beat by a bad team and are always ranked high. That is what is stupid about the bcs. i am a usc hater. They always have 4 or 5 good players. They get beat every year and should win the national title every year. They are the most OVERATED TEAM IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this result is somewhat predictable because if they get better players every year you can expect to have a good football season. Also if they are on a winning streak you can predict they will keep winning.

It was not very predictable at all.I don't understand foottball at all, But it sounds like the Huskiess won out of no whare. And it seems that the other team sould have won.

the third doctor whoof said...

My theory is that the Huskies practiced really hard to beat their losing streak while the other teams slacked off because of their winning streak and the Huskies losing streak.

I think the game was not predictable that the Huskies would beat the USC Trojans because the USC Trojans are 2-0 and the Huckies are unranked 1-1. I think that the USC Trojans would have won because they had a huge win last week against Ohio State, they have great recruits every year and they have a very successful program. It would have seemed more resonable to predict that the USC Trojans would have won over the Huskies because they seem to have a better team then them but you can always be surprised by the outcome. (Any team can beat any other team on any given day.)

McKenna Hage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes because they were bound to win sometime, although a losing streak from last season is pretty bad.

Anonymous said...

The game was some what predictable because USC was 2-0 and the Huskies were 1-1. USC probably thought they were going to dominate so they went in all cocky and over confident. They did not try as hard as they could, because they didn't think they had to. They thought it would be an easy win. Washington had a big win earlier so they were pumped up and they tried as hard as they could to do their best. They knew it would be tough to win.

This is because the USC picks the best players they can to go into there program. So they should win

I think that is a kool picture with all the fans running out on the field. That must feel really kool. They even ended their losing streak. The result is to predictable beacaus if they are so good in past years it probaly means they will be good in years to come.

Umm I don't no how it was predictable cuz I couldn't realy understand wat u were telling me because I hate football

I think it was predictable because one of the teams was exited about winning and wanted to win again.

The result of the Washington Huskies vs. USC Trojan game was predictable because although the Trojan's had a longer history of winning, when the Huskies beat Idaho for the first time in a while, you realize that they must have some pretty strong team members this year. They also must have been excited to finally start winning some games!

Sorry if this answer is wrong, I don't know anything about football.

The reason this was somewhat predictable is because the huskies werenet doing as well as the other team

Anonymous said...

I think that this was predictable because after the USC big win they thought that beating this team would be easy but i guess the Huskies practiced hard and the UNC did not think that they would play that way and were shocked that is why they lost.

Wait ,so who won??I think it was the Trojans because that's what my brother said and he understands football better than I do .It would be predictable because the USC has good recruits and a successful program. Its almost like a game between modified and varsity soccer I guess. That landlady in the landlady is really creepy!!!see you tomorrow! I think USC thought they knew they would win so they didn't try their hardest to beat the Huskies. The Huskies were not as good a team but they had the modivation to win. USC was over confident because they have the best recurits and were successful in the past.

Nate Miller said...

The Trojans were not prepared for the game because they were still celebrating their last victory over Ohio State. They did not have Taylor Mays, and that may be one of the reasons why they lost. They've failed miserably with unranked teams in the past few years.

Great comment, Nate! I love your use of factors leading up to the game (including health of key players) and your use of results from past seasons!

Anonymous said...

Well I really don't know if this is predictble but it sounds like the huskies won because they tried harder.Idaho was doing better than the huskies before the game so they probably didn't bring enough effort to the game. They probably had more fan support also.

I don't think it was very predictable. To me
(though I don't know a thing about football)
the Trojan's had better recruits, and maybe
better program, and sounded like they should of won.
Then again, maybe they were so excited after
winning the Ohio State Buckeyes that they didn't
give it their all.

well, i don't know if it is predictable but it seems like the huskies won because the tried harder and brought more power to the game. Since Idaho was probably still celebrating from their last victory and they thought the huskies were really bad, the didn't expect that the huskies would be able to beat them. This really shows that you have to always try your hardest and never underestimate The HUSKIES!!!! (just kidding)

This was very predictable because the Huskies came off a win that changed a lot for them. They now knew they could win a game and had the confidence to do much more. USC came off of a huge win against a big team. This made them feel invincible and a lot higher than the Huskies. Huskies had heart, playing until the end like they had nothing to lose, because to a team like that, you have nothing to lose, only everything to gain, and everyone knows heart goes further than talent, look at the 1960 olympics, when USA beat the Soviet Union. It is easier to win as the underdog. Being USC, you have to go in thinking that every game is just as important as the last and the next to come. Game over, I win

This event was somewhat predictable since the Huskies were on a long losing streak and they recently beat a good team. This could of caused them to have more confidence and beat USC.
